Call for papers

Established in 2008, CHPAMS is an academic society aiming to: 1) improve health and health equity among Chinese people around the globe, 2) contribute to the advancement of population health research, practice, and education in areas including but not limited to, health policy and management, health economics, epidemiology, and global health. CHPAMS strives to accomplish its mission by fostering and promoting scholarly exchanges among its members and with the Chinese public health community.

China Health Review (CHR) is the official journal of the China Health Policy and Management Society (CHPAMS). The CHR promotes health research, policy, practice, and education related to China and the general population health sciences by publishing original research, reviews, and other appropriate information. CHR's international standard serial numbers are ISSN 2325-1557 (Print) and ISSN 2325-1549 (Online).

China Health Review (CHR) is soliciting submissions of manuscript for the following peer-reviewed sections: Research Article, Review, Perspectives, Study Protocol, and Brief Reports. CHR also welcomes submissions or suggestions to the non-peered sections including Letters and Interviews.

Research article

Research Articles report the results of original public health research in up to 3000 words in the text, a structured abstract, up to 4 tables and figures, and no more than 50 references. The text must have an introduction and separate sections for Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions.

Review

Review section contains articles of systematic, critical review and assessments of literature and data sources pertaining to a topical issue determined as appropriate by the Editorial team. Reviews could be quantitative, meta-narrative, and qualitative reviews. The Reviews generally should be kept within 3000 words.

Perspective

Manuscripts in the Perspectives section are opinion pieces that, in most instances, highlight an article(s) that appears in the same or recent issue of the CHR. Perspective articles  that are not tied to an article are narrower in scope than Review articles and allow more lively and timely discussion of a topic issue. The articles generally should be kept within 1500 words. Manuscripts submitted to the Perspective section will be peer-reviewed.

Study Protocol

Manuscripts in the Study Protocol section report planned or ongoing research studies. A manuscript will not be considered if the associated data collection is complete when the manuscript was submitted. Publishing study protocols enables researchers and funding bodies to inform the research community regarding the planned or ongoing research, which could reduce unnecessary duplication of work and promote collaboration. Protocol manuscripts should be kept within 2500 words.

Brief Reports

Brief Reports present preliminary findings or novel findings in up to 1500 words in the main text, a structured (except if justified otherwise in the cover letter) abstract, up to 1 table or figure, and no more than 25 references.

Non Peer-Reviewed Sections

Letter

Letters to the Editor and Responses referring to a recent CHR article are encouraged. Letters should not duplicate material being published or to be published. Letters are not peer-reviewed but the editors reserve the right to edit and abridge letters and to publish Responses. Text is limited to 500 words and 10 references. A single table, figure, or image is permissible.

Interview

Interview section features scripts of conversation with key leaders in the areas of health policy and public health. Submissions to the Interview section are invitation-only.  Interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief for more information.
